Making Money Jobs

Friday, President Obama gave his much-anticipated speech to Chrysler employees in Toledo, presenting himself as the workers' champion who risked taxpayer’s money in a successful bid to help Chrysler and General Motors survive and return to profitability.

But, President Obama gave only lip service to the serious economic problems facing our nation, as he touted his success at saving union jobs for Chrysler and General Motors. There are still millions of voters in America who have yet to find a job. The economic outlook has become so depressing that more Americans think the economy will never recover, and the jobs market is headed in the wrong direction with. unemployment up and job creation down. New home sales plummeted to a record low. The question on the minds of many voters is, are the President's policies making our economic problems worse, like those experienced by some countries in the European Union?

“We’re on the verge of a great, great depression,” opined a market strategist Peter Yastrow. Says Yastrow, "We have many, many homeowners that are totally underwater here and cannot get out from under. The technology frontier is limited right now. We definitely have an innovation slowdown and the economy’s gonna suffer." The brutal month of May was a reminder that our economy is runing out of steam.

Obama would like voters to believe that we are still in the hangover phase of the 2008 financial meltdown.  In reality we are seeing the consequences of Obama's liberal economic policies in action. The uncertainty created by out-of-control spending and increased over-regulation has had a negative effect upon the job markets and the future of our economy. It has also resulted in an embarrassing downgrade of America's credit rating in the international community. The Obama administration plays down the downgrade in America's credit rating, and the Treasury Secretary reported the administration was not taking the downgrade very seriously.

If one could pinpoint when and where Obama lost his gravitas among many independent voters, as well as the confidence of the international community, it would have to be the President's excessively partisan speech on April 13, 2011.
